About Our Client

RDA's client is a multi-billion dollar real estate investment trust which owns well over 50 million square feet of office and industrial space.


Background

RDA's client created a 5-year strategic initiative to automate and update their business processes. The company chose their leasing terms process as the first problem domain to address with automation/K2, since it most directly impacted the timing and accuracy of getting a lease approved and signed, which drives revenue for the company. Leasing terms are prospective leasing offers for approval by management and consideration by clients. Typically, there are multiple offers for each leasing opportunity.

Prior to this project, the client managed this process using Lotus Notes. They were experiencing the following challenges:

  • Limited functionality, workflow or analytics
  • Cumbersome, called for redundant entries
  • Long-since frozen enhancements, since Notes was not a future for them
  • Much of the process was manual

In addition, many of the managers and leasing agents travel outside their office, limiting their ability to keep deals moving using the old system.


Solution Detail

RDA designed, developed and deployed the company's Lease Term Process Workflow application using K2's blackpearl and MOSS 2007 as the implementation platform.

In addition, RDA:

  • Designed the notion of Leasing Terms as a logical container for multiple leasing offers
  • Created analytics for instant review of deal values and comparison of scenarios
  • Created workflow for review and approval process, and to generate commission calculations
  • Provided BlackBerry support for traveling managers
